Ronald J. Goetz, Pottsville, passed away a Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown, on January 22, 2020.
 
Born May 4, 1928 he was the son of the late William and Grace Goetz, Pottsville. He was the widower of Florence I. Fisher Goetz.
 
Ron was a graduate of Pottsville School District and served in the Army and Marine Corp. Before retirement, he worked for the Pottsville Parking Authority, Mirawall, and Charles Chips.
 
Ron was a musician, playing drums and touring the United States and Canada, playing drums for Bob Hope in Korea, Frankie Avalon in Las Vegas, and many others. Locally he played drums with the Nitecappers and 4 Storms, Mark 6 and Pete Barbudie.
 
Ronald is survived by daughters Cynthia (Gregory) Mensch, Auburn, Debra (Michael) Hydock, Minersville and step-daughters, Sloane (WL) Shepard, Georgia, Bonnie (Melvin) Zoll, Myerstown, Rhonda (Thomas) Schneck, Pine Grove and Cheryl Reed, Shenandoah, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
 
Services of Remembrance will be held Saturday at 10AM from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9AM until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
