Patricia J. "Pat" Day

Patricia J. "Pat" Day, 94 of Pottsville, died Friday Sept 18, at home.

She was born, February 1, 1932, in Pottsville, a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Haffey Dumbrowney.

She was a 1950 graduate of Pottsville High School.

Prior to retiring Pat worked for Van Heusen Shirt Factory and other garment manufacturers, later at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

Pat was a devout member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She received the Spirit of St. Patrick Award in 2024 for her dedicated volunteer service.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arlen R. Day who passed on Dec 2, 2023. 2 great-grandsons, Shawn Day and Tristyn Bruen; a great-great-granddaughter, Hadlie Trate and grandson-in-law, Chuck Sorokach.

Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl Swartz; a son, Arlen "Rick" Day, II and his companion Tammy Bebelheimer, all Pottsville; 9 grandchildren, Kim Quinn and her husband Bobby, Heath Bruen and his wife, June, Randy Bruen, Diana Sorokach and her companion Brandon Weibley, Melissa Day, Christopher Day, Sandy Day, Samantha Day, Samantha Jo Jones and her husband, Ben; 23 great-grandchildren, Dylan, RJ, Elliott, Kayonna, Whitten, Braydon, Tori, Angel, Ashley, Kenny, Kara, Savanna, Kayla, Sakira, Malaki, Caitlyn, Brady, Austin, Maddy, Mason, Elizabeth, Madison, Shaelie; 9 great-great grandchildren, Scarlett, Karson, Grayson, Koda, Raelyn, Jacob, Everleigh, Heath, Belle; a sister, Nancy Haag, Pottsville; nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM, Saturday, Oct 17 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30AM until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Pat be made to St. Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
