Fredrick Gardner

Fredrick “Ricky” Gardner, 67 of Pottsville, died Thursday at Pottsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born June 22, 1955 in Pottsville a son of the late Fredrick & Dorothy McCready Gardner.

Ricky was a 1973 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.

He was an Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War Era.

He worked for various construction companies as a heavy equipment operator prior to retiring.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Thomas.

Surviving are his son Christian Gardner and his wife Samantha; a grandson, Brookes Gardner; 2 sisters, Rose Ann “Cookie” Clark, Denver, CO; Colleen Thompson, The Colony, TX; a brother, Ken Gardner, Warminster; nieces and nephews.

As per Ricky’s wishes there will be no services. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Ricky be made to the American Cancer Society, 712 Keyser Ave, Taylor, PA 18517. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
