Charles "Chuck" Sorokach, Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Sorokach, Jr., 38 of Pottsville, died peacefully Tuesday at home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 25, 1983 in Pottsville a son of Charles Sorokach, Sr. Pottsville, and Karen Higgins Sorokach, Pottsville.

He was a 2001 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.

Chuck was owner and operator of Sorokach Contracting, Pottsville.

Chuck was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville.

Throughout his life Chuck enjoyed sprint car racing, fishing and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys Fan.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William M. Higgins and paternal grandfather, Charles Sorokach, and his dog, Moose;

Surviving are his wife Diana Swartz Sorokach; his daughter Whitten Sorokach; a sister, Becky Sorokach, Pitman; 2 brothers, Kevin Sorokach, Minersville, and Chad Harig, Llewelyn; maternal grandmother, Anne M. Orloskey, Reading; paternal grandmother, Dolores Sorokach, Minersville; step-father, Brian Harig, Pottsville; step-mother Dawn Sorokach, Pottsville; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, his two dogs, Adrian & Zeke; many friends.

Services celebrating the life of Chuck will be held Saturday at 11AM from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with Rev. Mark Fesniak officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9-11AM Saturday at the funeral home. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Chuck be made to Diana M. Sorokach for a scholarship to be setup for their daughter Whitten C/O Humphrey Funeral Home 1112 W. Market St. Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Cemetery, Llewelyn.
