Adelaida Diaz

Adelaida Diaz, 78 of Allentown died peacefully Thursday Dec 19th at Geisinger St Lukes Hospital, Orwigsburg.

She was born Mar 27, 1946 in Puerto Rico, a daughter of late Alfredo and Encarnation Acevedo Diaz.

She graduated for high school and attended college.

Adelaida worked hard all her life to provide her daughters and was a woman of devout Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her son, Alfredo Velez.

Surviving are her daughters, Luz Velez, Pottsville; Yesenia Velez, Staten Island, NY; Yasmira Velez, Pottsville; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephew.

Service Celebrating Adelaida's Life will be held, Saturday, Jan 4, 2025, at 11AM from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9AM until the time of services. The family would prefer donations to help defray some funeral cost to James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, 1112 W. Market St. Pottsville, PA 17901.
