Catherine M. Yob

Catherine M. Yob, 80, of Ephrata, where she recently moved to be closer to her daughter, formerly of Pottsville, died peacefully on Friday at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster. 

She was born April 17, 1928 in Shamokin daughter of the late Allen and Adeline Derricott Dilliplane. 

She volunteered for over 10 years at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven where she was active in mission work and traveled on several trips to Japan, Indonesia and Africa. 

She was preceded in death on May 22, 2008 by her husband of 60 years, Rudy. She is survived by three children, Gloria Guthrie and her husband, Ray, Ephrata, Joel and his wife, Frances, Schuylkill Haven and Debbie Brennan and her husband, Matt, Leicester, Massachusetts: eight grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters, who were the joy of her life, Jackson, Zachary, Andrew, Kevin, Ryan, Powers, Cate and Maddie: Emily and Allison. 

Family and friends are invited to attend the graveside services on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. from Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven with Rev. Ronald C. Heim and Rev. Robert Stahl officiating. There will be no calling hours. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made in her name to Schuylkill Center, Rec Dept. c/o Christa, 1000 Schuylkill Manor Rd., Pottsville, PA 17901. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
