Marion L. Herwig

Marion L. Herwig, 85, of Pottsville died Friday at home. 

She was born May 18, 1923 in Aliquippa daughter of the late Andrew R. and Florence Schmeltzer Herwig. 

She was a 1940 graduate of Pottsville High School and also a graduate of Empire Beauty School. 

She was last employed by the former Cressona Aluminum Co., prior to retiring. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville and Allied Artists, Pottsville. 

She was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew F. Herwig. 

Surviving are 4 sisters, Lorraine A. "Babe" Murphy, Pottsville, Joan M. Beaton, Palos Verdes California, Janice A. Wassel, Lawrenceville, Georgia and Carolyn A. Foster, Shoemakersville, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. David J. Loeper officiating. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to St. John the Baptist Memorial Fund, 913 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at St. John No. 2 Cemetery, Pottsville.
