Joseph E. Lynch, Jr.

Joseph E. Lynch, Jr., 88, of Deer Lake died Thursday at Schuylkill Medical Center - East Norwegian St., Pottsville. He was born April 26, 1920 in Pottsville son of the late Joseph E., Sr. and Stella Little Lynch. He was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School and served with the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He was the former Mayor of Deer Lake and former Schuylkill County Recorder of Deeds. He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, V.F.W. Post 129, Pottsville, Catholic War Veterans Post 1051, Pottsville and Deer Lake and West Brunswick Township Fire Co. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Foley and a brother, John Lynch. Surviving is his wife of 64 years, the former Catherine Reinhart: a daughter, Kathleen Moser and her husband Woodrow, Deer Lake: 6 grandchildren: 9 great grandchildren: nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 11:30 A.M. from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 A.M. till the time of Mass. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, is in charge of arrangements.
