Stella M. Mirabella

Stella M. Mirabella, 90, of Pottsville, formerly of Palo Alto, died Monday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson St. She was born March 24, 1921 in Pottsville daughter of the late Diego and Gaetana Merlino Strasico. She was a 1939 graduate of Pottsville High School and was employed by Costas Candy for 20 years and the former Pottsville Eatery, retiring at the age of 85. Stella was a former member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, both of Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Mirabella: 2 brother, Vincent and Mariano Strasico. Surviving are 2 sons, Joseph N. Mirabella and his wife Sandy, Pottsville and Edward J. Mirabella and his wife Shirley, Etolie, TX: a daughter Denise M. Shade, and her husband Robert, Reading: 3 sisters, Daisy Corvaia and Mary Pagano, both of Philadelphia, and Sonni Blackwell, Pottsville: 2 grandchildren, Ryan Mirabella and Amanda McGee: a step-grandgrandson, Kevin Crawford and his wife Amy: 2 great-grandchildren, Tryston and Faber: 2 step great-grandchildren, Jagger and Jordan, nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday at 9:30 A.M. from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:00 A.M. from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Friday evening and from 8:30 A.M.-9:30 A.M. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
