Michael Yanni

Michael Yanni, 90, of Pottsville, died Tuesday morning at home.

He was born May 29, 1920 in Pottsville son of the late Dominic and Rose Richutti Yanni.

He was a graduate of Pottsville High School and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

He was employed by the former J.H. Brokhoff Dairy and was later employed by the U.S. Postal Service of Pottsville, until retiring in 1985.

Michael was a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, both of Pottsville, and was a member of the former Stag Archery Club. He was also an avid hunter throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife the former Johnnie B. Hays, on January 3, 2007 and a sister, Rosalie Gennerella. Surviving are 2 sons, Michael J. Yanni and his wife Ellen, Schuylkill Haven; and Robert J. Yanni and his wife Elizabeth, Pottsville: a brother Joseph Yanni and his wife Joan, Rochester, NY: 5 grandchildren Michael F., Janelle, Dominic, Kimberly, and Robert, Jr. nieces and nephews.

Services and Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
