George F. Schreader, Sr.

George F. Schreader, Sr., 89, of Pottsville died Monday evening at home. 

He was born January 31, 1922 in Pottsville, son of the late August and Margery Falls Schreader. 

He was a graduate of Pottsville High School and an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Aleutian Islands. 

Prior to retiring he was employed by Tyco Corporation. 

George was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and attended Evangelical United Methodist Church, both of Pottsville. 

He was preceded in death by his wife the former Elsie M. Dillow, on September 21, 2007. Surviving are 2 sons, George F. Jr., and his wife, Nancy, Lansdale, and Richard L. and his wife, Karen, Leesport: a sister, Vivian Rebuck, Schuylkill Haven, and a brother, William, Pottsville: 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with the Rev. Harold L. Hand, Jr. and Rev. Kristopher M. Perry officiating. Family and friends may call from 8:30 A.M. until the time of services. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Evangelical United Methodist Church, 305 S. Centre St. Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment with military honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
