Jonathan T. Porter

Jonathan T. Porter, 28, of Pottsville, died Thursday at home. He was born October 28, 1984 in Pottsville son of Thomas Porter and Marcella Evans Corcoran. John was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School and Army veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he served 2 tours as a combat medic with the 101st Airborne, attaining the rank of sergeant. He was of the methodist faith. In addition to his parents he survived by a daughter, Kirsty Anna; 2 sisters, his twin sister, Nicole Porter and Rebecca Porter: maternal grandmother, Louella Evans; a nephew and niece, whom he adored, Austin and Alea: many aunts, uncles, and cousins: Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 A.M. from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with the Rev. Bradley A. Schutt officiating. Family and friends may call from 8:30 A.M. until the time of services. The family would prefer remembrances in form of contributions made to Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KA 66675. Interment with military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
