G. Richard Schuettler

December 22, 1928 — September 3, 2013

G. Richard "Dick" Schuettler, 84 of Pottsville, died peacefully Tuesday surrounded by his family. He was born December 22, 1928 in Pottsville son of the late August L and Ida Graeff Schuettler. He was a 1946 graduate of Pottsville High School. Prior to retiring he was employed by Victor E. Muncy, Inc. and was co-owner of the former Clay Hut, Pottsville. Dick was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, where he was a former member of the church council, Pottsville Lions Club, where he was on the Sunshine Committee and received the Melvin Jones Award, Pottsville Area EMS Board, Nativity Green & Gold Club, and was also a Minor and Little League Baseball coach at Rotary. Surviving are his wife, the former Rosemarie O'Connor with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on April 11. 3 children, Patti Schuettler, Reading; Rick Schuettler and his wife, Michelle, Pottsville; Kathi Charles, Bernville: a sister, Lucille Crowe, Rockville MD: 4 grandchildren, Rachael Schuettler and her fiancée Shane Hobbs; Brendan Schuettler; LeeAnn and Bonnie Charles: nieces & nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 A.M. from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville with Rev. James Torpey and Rev. Bob Reiley as celebrants. Family and friends are invited to call from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass at the church. The family would prefer remembrances in form of contributions made to St. Patrick Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, PA 17901, or Pottsville Area EMS, 320 N. 9th St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville is in charge of arrangements
