Eleanor G. Donton-Mason

Eleanor G. Donton Mason, 73 of Pottsville, died Friday afternoon. She was born April 28, 1940 in Schuylkill Haven daughter of the late Clayton and Ellenora Weber Donton. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School and was employed by Senior Aid for the Pottsville Housing Authority prior to retiring in 2012. Eleanor was a member of the Salvation Army and a former leader of its Sunbeam group and was also a member of the former Home League. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Oleda and Laura: 2 brothers, Robert and Glenn: and a great-granddaughter Keira Elizabeth Ellinger. Surviving are her children, Michelle Jenkins and her husband Barry, Sr.; Jacqueline Mason-Lawrence, and her husband Christopher, Lafayette Hill; Bridgette Zweizig, Schuylkill Haven; John Mason, Pottsville; William Mason and his companion, Shannon Azbell, Pottsville; Ellenora Seltzer, and her husband David, Pottsville; and Jeanette Polkowski, and her husband John, Pottsville: a brother, Clayton Donton, Pottsville: 4 sisters, Neida Ford, Pottsville; Millie Bachert, New Philadelphia; JoAnn Schuster, Pottsville; and Ann Donton, Valley View: 25 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 A.M. at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville with Capt. Tammy Hench officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 6:00P.M.-8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening and from 10:30A.M. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. The family would prefer remembrances in form of contributions made to the Salvation Army P.O. Box 107 Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
