Beverly Singley Slater

  Beverly Singley Slater, 62 of Pottsville died Wednesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East.   She was born March 2, 1955 in Hazelton, daughter of the late Kenneth R. and Jeanette Horrox Singley.   She attended North Schuylkill High School earned an associate’s degree from Penn State Schuylkill.   She worked for 20 years with the Schuylkill Women in Crisis where she started as a volunteer before being employed full time. She was also a volunteer for local hospices.   Beverly was of Lutheran faith and was affectionately known as “Mother Nature” by her family and close friends because of her love for flowers and the outdoors.   In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Slater, her grandparents, Mable and Emerick Horrox and Margaret and Oscar Singley. Surviving are a son Steven Connor, Pottsville, a daughter, Jeanette Kilcullen, Minersville; 4 grandchildren, Michael and William Kilcullen and Timothy and Dalton Scott: siblings, Carol Singley Rolland, Reading; Kenneth A. Singley, Pottsville; David Singley, Ringtown; Nina Whitner, and Micheal Singley, both of Schuykill Haven: Nieces and Nephews; Close friends, Stephen and Cameron Zucal and Sally Casey all of Pottsville:   Service of remembrance will be held Monday at 10:30A.M. from James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville with Rev. Craig Zimmerman officiating. Family and Friends are invited to call from 9A.M. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Schuylkill Women In Crisis P.O. Box 96 Pottsville, PA 17901.
